Egypt revokes licence of Red Sea hotel over failure to pay salaries
MENA, Thursday 9 Apr 2020

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el Anani decided on Thursday to revoke licence from a hotel in the Red Sea governorate after it failed to pay the wages of its employees.

The move comes in light of the State’s efforts and directives to avoid laying off staffers or deducting their salaries amid the coronavirus crisis.

Assistant tourism minister for control of hotels and tourist facilities Abdel Fattah El Aassi said the hotel did not pay the salaries of its employees despite the State’s exceptional support to the tourism sector in order to alleviate the economic impacts of the coronavirus outbreak.
