The Minister of Culture launches the electronic initiative “Stay at Home: Culture in Your Hands” on the Internet

Thurs 4, 9pm: A musical evening, conducted by maestro Salah Ghoubashi, features Tunisian singer Lotfy Boushnaq, Moroccan singer Karima Alsaqly, together with Egyptian oud player Moudather Abul-Wafa.

Fri 5, 9pm: A concert features singer Asala (Syria).

Sat 6, 9pm: The Cairo Symphony Orchestra in a concert features cellist Hassan Moaataz.

Sun 7, 9pm: The Cairo Opera Ballet Company and the Cairo Opera Orchestra

perform Zorba ballet.

Tues 9, 9pm: Folk dance show from Russia.

Thurs 11, 9pm: Iraqi oud master Nasseer Shamma, Jordanian guitarist Waheed Mamdouh, Tunisian singer Latifa in concerts, conducted by

maestro Mustafa Helmy.



WE Online Music Festival (3 May-3 July)

WE Online Music Festival is a live streamed festival organised by WE Telecom company in cooperation with CNL Music.

The concerts begin at 10pm, live-streamed onWE Telecom’s YouTube channel.

The upcoming line-up includes the following bands:

Fri 5 June: Massar Egbari, a well-known Egyptian oriental rock bandpresenting music and songs tackling social problems.

Fri 19 June: Jordanian Arab rock bandEl Morabba3.

Fri 26 June: Jordanian composer, singer and music producer Aziz Maraka.



Cairo Contemporary Dance Centre

The Cairo Contemporary Dance Centre (CCDC) has decided to offer free online classes to encourage everyone to stay active at home. Classes vary between Contemporary Dance, Barre, Floor Barre, Yoga, Breakdance, Movement and Exercise, Pilates, Ballet, and nutrition advises. You can find all the classes on the CCDC’s Youtube channel.



Goethe Institute

Although the cultural sector is among those most affected by the corona pandemic, this crisis has unquestionably proven the importance of cultural activities in our lives. In order to reach the public interested in cultural events, and to provide support to artists around the world, Goethe Institute launched the Kulturama.digital platform to provide live or recorded performances and upload them to the site for free.

Pro Helvetia Cairo

In this quarantine period, Alias Contemporary Dance Companywould like to revisit with you some of the highlights oftheir existence by sharing several oftheir video archives.Five recordings of shows and one short film will be broadcast live on their YouTube channel on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 8pm (local Swiss time).

Bibliotheca Alexandrina

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) has been posting videos on cultural topics on its YouTube channel since March, when Egyptian cultural institutions were temporarily closed due to covid-19 pandemic. While all the programmes add something unique with their content, the videos focusing on music have garnered the highest viewership so far.
