Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his UAE counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed on Tuesday the United Nations announcement that Libya's warring sides have agreed on resuming ceasefire talks.

In a joint statement following a phone call between the two top diplomats, the Egyptian and UAE Foreign Ministries called for abidance by the UN-sponsored political process and and Berlin Conference’s conclusions, emphasizing that commitment to the political process is the only way to attain peace in Libya and maintain its security and unity.



They affirmed that they back the Libyan people and all parties seeking a truce to stop the bloodshed and achieve stability in the war-torn country.
