The Egyptian national team to play Uganda and Chad in friendly games later this month

Egypt have arranged two friendly games with Uganda and Chad during their training camp in Sudan later this month, the national team’s managing director said on Sunday.

“We will face Uganda and Chad on 29 and 31 March respectively,” Samir Adly told Ahram Sport.

“The Egyptian Football Association chairman was given the green light by the team’s technical staff to arrange those friendly games.”

The Pharaohs will hold a training camp in Sudan from 25 March to the first of April.

They are preparing for their upcoming African Nations Cup and World Cup qualifying campaigns.

American boss Bob Bradley is likely to face a stiff challenge to prepare his Egypt side for their vital commitments, given the lack of domestic competitive action.

All football activities in Egypt have been suspended since the Port Said tragedy, which left at least 74 fans dead on the first of February following the end of a Premier League game between Ahly and Masry.

The Egyptian Football Association called off this season’s league competition last week.
