Organised by the Cultural Development Fund, the Golden Voice competition has become one of the most important events for young people in Arabic music

On its YouTube channel, the Cultural Development Fund (CDF) has begun releasing a series of concerts featuring winners of the Golden Voice singing competition.

The videos are recordings from the competition's final ceremony, along with a concert showcasing young talents to large audiences.

Golden Voice has become one of the most important competitions for young people singing in the Arabic music repertoire.

o far, the CDF has released a concert of the closing ceremony of the competition's first edition, which took place in 2015, its second edition (2016) released on 18 June, and fourth edition (its 2018 concert), released 20 June.

The CDF will also release the third edition of Golden Voice (its 2017 concert) on 25 June.

Held on an annual basis, the Golden Voice competition was founded by late opera soloist Mohsen Farouk (1961-2017), also former director of House of Arabic Music (Beyt Al-Ghena Al-Araby) where some concerts featuring contest finalists were held.

Besides Farouk, numerous renowned Egyptian singers sat on the competition's jury panel, including musicians Amir Abdelmeguid, Nadia Mostafa and Hany Shenouda, soprano Taheya Shams El-Din, Mohamed Alaa, music researcher Ines Galal-Eddin, among others.

Throughout its several editions, Golden Voice has shed light on dozens of Egyptian talents aged between 18 and 30, some of whom went on to launch singing careers.
The competition is organised by the Cultural Development Fund, a body operating under the Ministry of Culture.

The posting of Golden Voice competition concerts and ceremonies is part of the Cultural Development Fund's move to join the Culture Between Your Hands initiative, which aims to bring theatre performances, concerts and other cultural events to audiences amid the current shutdown of theatres, cinemas and concert halls caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
