No Israelis killed on the Rafah border: Israeli official
Ahram Online, Tuesday 27 Mar 2012
An Israeli army spokesman denied circulating reports that an Israeli was killed today on the border with Egypt

The Arabic-language spokesman of the Israeli Army, Avichay Adraee, deniedreports that an Israeli soldier was killed in the Rafah border area between Egypt and Israel today. Adraee commented via his official Twitter account.

Earlier in the day reports had claimed that an Israeli citizen was killed and two Egyptians were also injured as Israeli border authorities pursued smugglers, who may have entered Egyptian land from Israel. Egyptian security ended up clashing with Israeli forces, resulting in the death of the Israeli.

It remains unclear whether the smugglers were Egyptian or Israeli.
