By 2050, enterprises that adopt artificial intelligence (AI) are expected to see growth by 100 percent in their productivity, senior research director at the International Data Corporation (IDC), a premier global provider of market intelligence and communication, Bruno Teyton said.

Teyton shared his insights during the first Huawei virtual summit, attended by Ahram Online, that kicked of Thursday and will conclude Friday under the theme of a "Better World".

Teyton added that by 2025 more than 50 percent of new infrastructure will be deployed in critical edge locations, from less than 10 percent today, while 70 percent of enterprises are expected to run varying levels of data processing in both information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT).

On the role automation and AI is expected to play in future enterprises, Teyton noted that future enterprises will see greater innovation success with a 25 percent projected increase in the rate of new product introductions, as well as higher net customer satisfaction.

He also said that automation and AI will be mandatory in the long run and there is a need to understand the new use cases, processes and opportunities that will emerge with edge computing, IT/OT convergence and 5G.

At the Better World Summit for NetX 2025 & X-Tech, Huawei proposed its planning of future-oriented target networks, which aims to seize new opportunities and address new challenges related to 5G development and industry digitisation.

President of global carrier marketing and solution sales at Huawei, Peng Song, said that four key features will be network targets in the future, including providing experience-centric, ubiquitous, high-speed, and scenario-based connections for customers as well as implementing simplified architecture and protocols, in addition to enhancing the evolution of all services with simplified networks.

They also include adopting flexibility for services, deployment, and management and applying AI to network autonomy to enable the autonomous driving network.
