Ahly need one point to secure the Egyptian Premier League title when they face Maqassa in the 28th matchday on Saturday

Ahly winger Hussein El-Shahat and attacking midfielder Mohamed Mahmoud returned to full training after recovering from injuries that sidelined them for a longtime as the team prepares for the African Champions League semi final in October and the remaining domestic league games.

Mahmoud, 20, has been out of action for a year after sustaining his second anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury to his knee last October.

The unlucky midfielder had sustained the same injury but in the other leg in January 2019 only weeks after he joined the Red Devils from Wadi Degla.

"Mohamed Mahmoud joined Ahly's training sessions and he will be ready to participate in the games gradually," Ahly's football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz told his team's official website.

Ahly's winger Hussein El-Shahat, 28, missed his team's games in the Egyptian Premier League for more than three months after undergoing a hernia surgery last June.

El-Shahat had been struggling with his injury since February, but the operation was postponed first due to Ahly's matches in the CAF Champions League then the coronavirus outbreak, which has put pressure on the healthcare system since March.

"El-Shahat also is fit for the games after recovering from a hernia surgery and he participated in Thursday's training sessions and he now ready for the games,"

Meanwhile, the Ahly's football director revealed that the team's defender Rami Rabia will undergo further medical tests on Friday to determine his expected time of returning to the team's trainings.

The 26-year-old defender suffered from muscle exhaustion during the goalless draw with Ittihad of Alexandria on Monday and was substituted at half time.

Ahly are preparing to face Maqassa in the 28th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Saturday.

The Egyptian Premier League titleholders are currently at the top of the league table with 72 points as they need for only one point to secure the ongoing season title five games before its end.
