Shopping for trousers, but tired of the same old boring options? Well, try a unique, subtle and totally in-step variation for 2012
Unique trend #2 in trousers
As much as we love dresses (and they’ve dominated the runway for years) they are sometimes too impractical to wear.
So when you wear trousers, which is still a great deal of the time if we are realistic, what’s a trendy way to wear them?
· High waists
· The inseam tailored all the way down to the ankle
· And … drumroll … slightly high-water!
Yes, almost all the trousers on the catwalks for 2012 were high-waters. It’s likely a desire for change from the recent skinny jeans that bunch up at the bottom, or the wide inseam from years before.
A style that incorporates this a lot is the manly business dress for the woman on a feminine power trip: proper trousers, molded to a woman’s curves; collared, button-down translucent shirts, tight at the waist; accessorised with hats, belts, ankle-boots or suspenders.
Marc Jacobs married this look with the Great Gatspy; Sharon Waucho took a casual, bold tone; Prada, their strong patterned with sharp colours and Karl Lagerfeld stuck with dramatic black.
I’m sure there are some over-shrunken gems in your closet to pull out for this season. Glam-them up with a super sexy shirt, or power-them up with a decidedly business tycoon shirt.
