Egypt to start camp in Turkey in whirwind momentum towards World Cup qualifiers
Mahmoud Elassal, Monday 16 Apr 2012
Egypt is to hold another camp in Turkey after finalising UAE camp, making strong steps towards the qualifiers, including a smashing defeat of Mauritania and looking into securing the coming World Cup qualifiers game in Egypt

The management of Egypt's national team is full-steam ahead, working towards ensuring the 2014 World Cup go without a hitch.

Firstly, a company will sponsor Egypt's national team to start another training camp in Turkey after they finish the current camp in the United Arab Emirates, the Pharaohs assistant coach Diaa El-Sayed revealed.

Also, keeping an eye on whether the situation in Egypt will hinder the games, the Pharaohs technical manager asked the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) to decide what to do about hosting the upcoming 2014 World Cup qualifiers game against Mozambique in June.

"We asked the football association to inform us if the interior ministry will secure the World Cup qualifiers game in Egypt," El-Sayed told a television programme.

"The security situation should be determined as soon as possible."

"If we will play the game in Egypt, we can't play behind closed doors," he added.

So far, the national team has seen much success in the UAE training camp.

Egypt's goalkeepers' tactician Zaki Abdel-Fattah had much to be happy over after Sunday's friendly 3-0 victory over Mauritania.

Even with a strong win in Mauritania, they are keeping focused: "Bradley will work hard to avoid the mistakes players made during Mauritania's friendly," said Abdel-Fattah.

"We reached an agreement with the management of Egyptian clubs to allow their players to stay in the UAE camp until it ends on 18 April," Abdel-Fattah said.

Egypt, who have tasted only one friendly defeat since Bradley took over, kicked off their camp in the UAE with a 3-2 victory over Nigeria side last Thursday, then smashed Mauritania 3-0 on Sunday.

Speaking on future games, "El-Hadary will take part in the coming friendly against Iraq this Wednesday" Abdel-Fattah told a television programme after the Mauritania slaughter.

"Bradley decided to try all the team's goalkeepers during UAE camp, as he named Abdel-Wahid El-Sayed in the first friendly against Nigeria, Sherif Ekrami against Mauritania then El-Hadary will take part in the Iraq game," he added.

Egypt's national team is scheduled to face Iraq on 17 April before returning home.
