Trezeguet left Aston Villa’s latest Premier League game against West Ham last Monday in the 73rd minute after picking up a head injury following a challenge from an opponent, resulting in a penalty for his team.

“Yeah, Trez won the penalty and unfortunately caught his head on the West Ham player’s boots. His head injury or gush has been glued, and he has been self-administering strap a bandage on his head while he trains, but he’s still doing a couple of headers, he’s fine,” Smith told the club’s official website.

The Villans game against Newcastle set for last Friday has been postponed following an increase in COVID-19 cases at the Magpies' training ground.

The 26-year-old winger participated with the Villans in 51 matches, scoring seven goals in all competitions since he joined the club in July 2019.
