Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov discussed in a phone call on Friday ways to enhance bilateral relations between both countries, and a number of regional issues of mutual concern.

According to an official statement by the Egyptian foreign ministry, both ministers stressed the importance of continuing work to pursue joint coordination and boost bilateral relation, particularly on economic and commercial levels.

The pair also discussed a number of regional issues and agreed to pursue political discussions concerning issues of mutual concern, the statement added.
