Egypt's Marmoush joins Bundesliga 2 side St Pauli on loan from Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg's Egyptian winger Omar Marmoush signed a six-month loan deal with St Pauli, The Bundesliga 2 side announced on Tuesday.

The out-of-favour winger opted to leave Wolfsburg due to his lack of playing time with the Bundesliga side, who are sixth in the Bundesliga table, as the 22-year-old looks to earn a place in Egypt's U-23 squad for the summer Olympic Games.

Marmoush made six appearances with Wolfsburg in all competitions this season, playing a total of 288 minutes.

He joined Wolfsburg II team from Egypt’s Wadi Degla in 2017 before making his first appearance with the first team in May 2020, when his side lost 4-1 to Bayer Leverkusen.

In June 2020, Wolfsburg announced that Marmoush had signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2023.

St Pauli are second from bottom in the Bundesliga 2 table with only eight points from 13 games.
