Qatar Airways, EgyptAir resume flights to Cairo, Doha after end of boycott

The resumption of flights between Egypt and Qatar comes a week after the Arab Quartet - Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain- signed the Al-Ula agreement with Qatar


Qatar Airways and EgyptAir resumed on Monday flights to the two countries' capitals after Egypt ended a three-and-half year boycott of Doha and reopened its airspace to the Gulf Kingdom.

A Qatar Airways flight carrying 100 passengers arrived from Doha to Cairo International Airport, while an EgyptAir flight carrying 38 passengers traveled from Cairo to Doha.

The resumption of flights between Egypt and Qatar comes a week afterthe Arab Quartet - Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain- signed the Al-Ula agreement with Qatar, ending their three-and-half-year boycott of Doha and resuming travel and diplomatic relations.

Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Bahrain re-opened their airspaces to Qatar last week.
