Egypt's culture ministry has released on Monday an English-language documentary film about pop art pioneer Reda Abdel-Salam.

Directed by Fatma AlHaj, the film was published on the YouTube channel of the Supreme Council of Culture as part of the 'Culture in Your Hands' initiative launched a year ago by the ministry.

Egyptian illustrator, painter and art critic Reda Abdel-Salam graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1977, eleven years before he finished his Ph.D to enjoy a flourishing career.

The longtime illustrator of ‘Al- Mussawar’ magazine has worked with Al- Ahram newspaper (1977 to 1981), is a member of the Fine Arts Committee at the Supreme Council of Culture.

The acclaimed Suez-born artists have enriched the Egyptian arts with dozens of exhibitions and activities regionally and internationally winning a collection of awards and trophies.

Since the last spring's pandemic's lockdown, hundreds of videos from various culture activities have been published through multiple channels of the culture ministry with a few gaining viewers' attention.
