Handball: Argentina lose to Poland; Slovakia overrun by Sweden

In handball, Japan beat Austria, Poland just beat Argentina, and host Sweden overran Slovakia as Iceland did Brazil


Handball World Championship hosts Sweden defeated Slovakia like a Nordic blizzard in the second half of their game to top Group D with the optimum of four points.

Slovakia lost their second match and have to win three straight games now to qualify for the main round.

After losing to Norway the day before, Japan clashed against Austria and took their first World Championship points in Sweden.The Japanese players put on a blistering display of high speed handball and Austria couldn’t find the means to stop them.

Iceland took their second victory in the ongoing championship by dominating Brazil, close to qualifying for the main round.

Poland suffered but eventually defeated top team Argentina, booking a place in the main round having beat Slovakia in the first round.
