The 14th edition of Art Dubai will kick off on 29 March and span over six days instead of four

14th Art Dubai announced three major modifications to be applied to its 14th edition: delaying the event, extending it by two days and change of the venue.

According to the organisers, Art Dubai will take place between 29 March and 3 April, delaying the event from previously announced 17-20 March.

The new dates extend the Art Dubai's duration from four to six days, a fact that offers greater flexibility to visitors and enables the organisers to regulate more efficiently "the number of people attending the fair at any point in time, in accordance with the necessary safety and social distancing measures," the organisers reveal in the official announcement posted on Art Dubai's website.

In addition the event will be moved by a new purpose-built structure to the Gate Building at Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) which will house around 45 galleries. Previous plans stated that Art Dubai would take placein Madinat Jumeirah in Al Sufouh.

The changes take into account health and safety protocols, travel, and other COVID-related restrictions.

“By putting the above measures in place, we are confident in our ability to adapt and respond flexibly to the changing circumstances,” the statement reads.

“Art Dubai’s mission extends to cultivating an ecosystem of not only art, but also education, mentorship, and thought leadership through programmes which foster cross-continental dialogue and exchange, enhancing the international curatorial landscape and building lasting relationships.”

One of the world’s most important international art fairs, Art Dubai brings together galleries, curators and artists from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia regions.

According to the event's website, Art Dubai aims to play a role as a talent incubator, being a launchpad and development platform for successful careers for artists, curators and art professionals.
