The draw for the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) Confederation Cup put Egypt’s Pyramids FC in a challenging group; however, the team’s officials assured that all the groups are competitive and are aiming for the final.

Pyramids were chosen to be among Group D’s teams, alongside Zambia’s Nkana, Morocco’s Raja Casablanca, Angola’s Primero de Agosto and Tanzania’s Namongo.

Pyramids sporting director Hani Said stressed that they have achieved their first aim, which was qualifying to the Confederation Cup’s group stage, in order to reach the top target of reaching the final and winning the title.

Pyramids reached the final of the same tournament last season, where they were defeated by Morocco’s Nahdet Berkane in a controversial game.

“Pyramids does not consider the levels of the groups, as all of them are hard and there will be no easy games for any team,” Said said on Pyramids’ official Twitter.

“You can describe our group as balanced. Pyramids are ready for any team because our target is obvious, which is to compete for the continental title, as champions concentrate only on themselves and work hard to clinch the title,” he concluded.
