A week ahead of presidential poll, socialist candidate Abul-Ezz El-Hariri announces plans for Alexandria campaign tour
Egyptian presidential contenderAbul-Ezz El-Hariri, who is running on theSocialist Popular Alliance Party (SPAP)'s ticket, is planning a tour of Alexandria this Fridayto meet local residents and promote his electoral programme, El-Hariri campaign officials told Ahram Online.
A leftist MP, El-Hariri has championed workers' rights for the past 50 years.
He was nominated by the SPAP as the party's presidential candidate in March.
Egypt's first post-Mubarak presidential poll will be held on 23 and 24 May, with a runoff round on 16 and 17 June if no single candidate wins an outright majority. Egypt's next president will be formally named on 21 June.
