Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor looks to make his move to Tottenham permanent
Manchester City's Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor said on Monday he is keen to stay at Tottenham the next season after spending a one-season loan with Spurs.
"Loved my spell at Tottenham. We are working hard with the chairman to make it permanent." Adebayor was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
The 28-year-old striker had an impressive performance with Spurs last season, scoring 18 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions.
Adebayor still has two years remaining on his contract with Manchester City but it was unlikely that the Togolese striker will return to the Citizens.
Tottenham, who ended fourth on the Premier League table, will play the next season on the Europa League after defending champions Chelsea took their place in the UEFA Champions League.
