US embassy releases a statement denying that any of its employees or diplomatic cars were involved in an accident that led to the death of several protesters
The US embassy in Cairo has denied the involvement of one of its diplomatic cars in the accident that led to the deaths of several protesters.
In a statement distributed to the media, the embassy said that non of the embassy’s cars or employees were involved in the accident.
The statement said that several of the cars that belonged to the embassy were stolen on January 28 and investigations revealed that the cars have been used in criminal and violent acts.
A video of a diplomatic car running over several protesters has been making the rounds on the internet for several days.
