Military source situated in North Sinai affirms Wednesday that military raids will continue until terrorists are rooted out from the region
Egyptian military raids in North Sinai seeking to purge the peninsula from alleged terrorist and Jihadist groups, have carried on for the eighth day running, a military source confirmed Wendesday.
Based in the restive area of Sinai, an unnamed military source speaking to Al-Ahram's Arabic language news portal reiterated that the military raids would continue until all the terrorists in the region are arrested and their hideouts are destroyed.
"Operation Eagle 2", as it is being named by the armed forces, was launched in the early hours of 8 August, a few days after 16 border guards were killed by unidentified assailants in an incident that laid bare the deteriorating security situation in the Sinai since the ouster of Hosni Mubarak.
