The Arab League called the Arab and Islamic world to implement all resolutions issued in previous summits to back the Palestinian cause against "fierce Israeli attacks" on the Palestinian civilians, in a statement Friday.

On annual Quds Day, a global Palestinian solidarity eventheld on the last Friday of Ramadan, the Arab League urged all international organisations, including the UN Security Council, the European Union and the Madrid Quartet, to protect the Palestinians living in Jerusalem under occupation and suffering severe "humanitarian violations."

"Israel is apparently implementing a process of Judaisation for Jerusalem through building settlements and extending construction", the statement read.

The confiscation and demolition of Palestinian properties, the imposition of high tax rates and deportation of "thousands of Palestinians" outside the borders of Jerusalem were the main strategies used by the Israeli authorities to control the city, the organisation’s statement asserted.

Moreover, the Arab League slammed the recent storming of Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque by extremist Israeli groups, who attempted to torch what is considered the third holiest site in Islam, under the protection of occupation forces.

"The Israelis enter Al-Aqsa mosque to perform their own prayers and rituals in a move aimed at discriminating against the Muslim Palestinians who are not granted the same right", the statement added.
