Ahly coach, Portuguese Manuel Jose started Sunday’s training session with a minute of silence for the martyrs of the Egyptian 25 January revolution.

The 64-year old coach returned back to Egypt on Saturday after spending the past week in his homeland due to theprotests that stormed the country.

The Red Devils’ players and employees were surprised when the Portuguese tactician congratulated them on the Egyptian revolution and wishing the country a bright future.

The players witnessed another surprise when the Best African-based player in 2010, Ahmed Hassan joined the training after more than four months off the field because of injury.

Hassan has been out of action after rupturing his cruciate ligaments in his knee during an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone last September.

“Hassan will have a special training programme and needs more time before resuming full training,” Ahly Doctor Walid Abdel Baki announced.

“Goalkeeper, Sherif Ekramy and striker Mohamed Fadl will join the training sessions in March when they finish their rehab programmes, ”he added.

Algerian forward Amir Sayoud will be back to Cairo on Monday to join the team intraining after facing a flight problem due to the current circumstances in Algeria.
