Mauritania striker Dominique Da Silva is packing his bags after an unsuccessful 18-month spell with African champions Ahly.

The 22-year-old forward failed to settle in at the Red Devils and has been relegated to the bench since the arrival of coach Hossam El-Badry last summer.

"We gave him the permission to go. We talked to his agent who said that a Swiss team will table an offer for him in the next few days," Ahly's football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz told the club's website on Thursday.

Da Silva was lured by the Red Devils in the summer of 2011 from Tunisian side Sfaxien after impressing former boss Manuel Jose with his strength and speed.

However, his first season was marred by injuries and he failed to make an impact in Ahly's African Champions League triumph this year.

El-Badry seems to have already found a replacement as Ahly are in advanced talks with Zimbabwean striker Edward Sadomba, who plays for Sudanese side Al-Hilal.

Da Silva will be the second foreign-based player to exit the seven-time African champions after Ivorian striker Oussou Konan, who was loaned out to Saudi side Hajer.
