Saleh Gomaa of ENPPI says he favours a move to Fiorentina to link up with fellow Egyptian Ahmed Hegazy

ENPPI and Egypt midfielder Saleh Gomaa has said there are four Italian clubs interested in signing him.

"My club received offers from Italian agents saying four Italian clubs – AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus and Fiorentina – have shown interest in signing me,” the 19-year-old who plays with Egypt's seniors, youth and Olympic teams, said Tuesday to an Egyptian sports TV programme.

“The Italian agents contacted my club but ENPPI haven’t decided my final price yet,” the attacking midfielder added.

“I will start negotiating with my club and the agents and discuss the offer this week,” added the Pharaohs’ player who participated in the two recent friendlies in Abu Dhabi which Egypt lost 3-0 to Ghana and 4-2 to Ivory Coast.

“I'm interested in Fiorentina because Ahmed Hegazy plays there. I want to start my European experience because the future of the Egyptian league is still uncertain,” he concluded.

Hegazy is currently injured with a ruptured anterior knee ligament and is unlikely to play for Egypt in their bid to qualify for the 2014 World Cup.

Egyptian domestic competitions have been suspended since February 2012 when 72 fans were killed and thousands injured during clashes between Ahly and Masry fans at the Port Said Stadium. Verdicts in the trial related to the disaster are expected on 26 January.
