The April 6 Youth Movement implores more participation from Egyptian people, although they agree the amendments are positive

The April 6 Youth Movement, a politically vocal Facbook group, welcomes the amendments made to the constitution and the changes in government, describing them as convenient for the transitional phase Egypt is undergoing.

However, they suggested that a separate voting process should be carried out for each reform.

Engy Hamdy, media coordinator, implored that while the amendments are satisfactory “the people should take part in the constitutional reform process instead of only voting on it.”

She added that the constitution should also guarantee freedom, social justice and establishment of political parties in addition to human rights and ensuring a transitional parliamentary government to reduce the absolute powers granted to the president of the Egyptian republic through the constitution.
