Egyptian versatile midfielder Ahmed Fathi makes his first start for Hull City in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to Wolves

Egyptian versatile midfielder Ahmed Fathi has made his first start since joining Hull City in January but the Tigers slumped to a 1-0 defeat by Wolves in the English Championship (second division) on Tuesday.

Fathi, who joined Hull from Egyptian giants Ahly on a short-term loan deal, has made four substitute appearances before being included in the starting line-up against Wolves.

He had a rasping long-range drive that flew just wide after 25 minutes and received a yellow card for a challenge on Stephen Hunt in the 75th minute.

Fathi's compatriot Ahmed Elmohamady produced a fine display, whipping in several dangerous crosses but his teammates failed to capitalize on them.

Fellow Egyptian Mohamed Nagy 'Gedo' missed the game due to a foot injury.

Hull remain second in the Championship table with 77 points, six clear of third-placed Watford who suffered a 1-0 defeat by Millwall. The top two will seal direct promotion to the Premier League.
