Egypt bourse declines slightly on Wednesday

EGX30 falls amid modest turnover; Orascom Construction Industries slides 0.21%, Commercial International Bank falls 0.65%


The Egyptian bourse's benchmark index dropped by 0.68 percent on Wednesday, finishing at 2,259 points in a session which saw modest turnover of LE348.1 million.

Most of the thirty companies in the main EGX30 index were trading in the red. Egypt's largest listed company, Orascom Construction Industries, slid 0.21 percent.

Banking giant Commercial International Bank fell by 0.65 percent.

Investment bank EFG Hermes, which is in the process of being acquired by Qatar's QInvest, dropped 1.26 percent.

Egyptian investors were net sellers on Wednesday, of LE10.3 million worth of shares, while foreigners were net buyers.

Real estate stocks suffered, Six of October Development & Investment (SODIC) falling 2.33 percent, Palm Hills Development Company 1.86 percent, and TMG Holding 1.45 percent.

Orascom Telecom Holding also declined, by 0.43 percent.
