Hull City's coach hails Ahmed Fathi's performance during the 1-0 loss to Wolves despite a blunder that led to the only goal on Tuesday
Hull City coach Steve Bruce said he was delighted with Ahmed Fathi's display during the team's 1-0 loss to Wolves in the English Championship (second division) despite committing a mistake that cost his side.
The Egyptian winger, who joined Hull from Egyptian giants Ahly on a short-term loan deal last January, made his first start in Tuesday's defeat after four substitute appearances.
He produced a solid performance but gave away possession in the 55th minute and Wolves pounced on the mistake to notch up the winner.
"We were caught in possession through Fathi, who had a wonderful debut," Steve Bruce told Hull Daily Mail on Wednesday.
Hull remain second in the Championship table with 77 points, six clear of third-placed Watford who suffered a 1-0 defeat by Millwall. The top two will seal direct promotion to the Premier League.
