Former Egypt coach Shehata quits Munich job

Hassan Shehata resigns as technical advisor at Germany's Munich 1860


Egypt's most successful coach, Hassan Shehata, has decided to end his spell as a technical advisorat German side Munich 1860.

Owned by Jordanian investor Hasan Ismaik, Munich 1860 won the Bundesliga in 1966 but were relegated to the second division in 2005 and have failed to return to the top flight since then.

The winner of three successive African Cup of Nations trophies in 2006, 2008 and 2010, with the Pharaohs, Shehata, and his assistant Ahmed Soliman, said they were not comfortable at Munich, especially during continued conflicts between the management and owner.



Some Sudanese reports claimed that Shehata is in ongoing negotiationswith Sudan's Al-Hilal for the coach post.
