Twelve members of the Palestinian Hamas movement's political bureau arrive in Cairo, where they will convene a three-day general meeting.
The meeting sets into motion the handover to the bureau's new body of members and dole out the tasks specified in a meeting in Doha several weeks ago.
A former bureau authority details that the new committee is made up of 19 members. From Gaza, those include Khaled Meshaal, Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh and others.
The body also comprises of six members from the West Bank, whose names are undisclosed for security purposes. Six other members represent the expatriate community.
