Jordanian protest even after religious leaders issued an edict against demonstrations
Jordanians are protesting in the streets of the capital following Friday's Muslim prayers.
The marches defy an edict by the country's religious leaders not to demonstrate.
Chanting "We want to change constitution," about 150 students, independents and leftists marched.
The 10th straight week of protests saw far few numbers Friday. The demonstrators are calling for the popular election of the prime minister and other reforms inspired by the Tunisia and Egypt uprisings. King Abdullah II now appoints the prime minister.
Demonstrators said they were not put off by a fatwa issued by religious aauthorities instructing Jordanians not to take part in protests while the government and political parties work on reform plans.
