Gouda Abdel Khaleq, who once filled the supply ministry post for a few months, declines an offer to take up the post once again

Leftist politician Gouda Abdel Khaleq declines an offer to again take up the post of supply minister in Egypt's interim government, citing personal reasons on Sunday.

Two sources in Egypt's transitional administration had said interim Prime Minister Hazem El-Beblawi would ask Abdel Khaleq to fill the post.

"I was offered the post by El-Beblawi, but I declined for personal reasons," he told Reuters over the phone.

Abdel Khaleq headed the supply ministry for a few months in 2011.
