The talented Moroccan player could earn a Premier League place in the new season if he leaves Queens Park Rangers

Morocco and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt is close to joining Fulham on a one season loan.

Taarabt played a big role in QPR’s promotion to the Premier League in 2011.

Seeing Rangers relegated to second division in the new season, the 24-year-old is seeking a Premier League spot and joining the Cottagers seems to be one possibility.

Fulham manager Martin Jol, who coached the Moroccan international before at Tottenham Hotspur, is reportedly offering him a chance to rejoin the top flight.

"I will have my medical. I am glad to find Martin Jol here, who bought me from Lens to Tottenham and who tried to recruit me when he was on the bench for Ajax and Hamburg," Taarabt told L'Equipe on Monday.

"I am also very happy to have found a solution to stay in London where I lived for seven years.

"Even if I have to move from the north of the city to near Chelsea," he added.

Attacking midfielder Taarabt played for QPR for two seasons on loan from Tottenham before turning his stay into a permanent one in 2010.

During his five-year stay at Loftus Road, the 15-time capped international player has scored 34 times in 152 appearances.
