Uganda striker believes that the friendly against Egypt is a perfect test for the World Cup qualifiers

Uganda striker Emmanuel Okwi believes the friendly against Egypt on Wednesday will prepare him and his teammates well for the 2014 World Cup decider against Senegal.

"Egypt is a very good test for us,” Okwi was quoted as saying on SuperSport.

"They have been African champions seven times and they have big, respectable players," the Uganda striker praised.

"We couldn’t have got a better test. But as a team we are not afraid of them. As a footballer, you are always ready when called upon and we are ready to test ourselves against one of Africa’s best," Okwi concluded.

Cranes national team are preparing to face Senegal in Group J of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers on 7 September.

Uganda are in the second place of their group with eight points, one behind leaders Senegal.

Meanwhile, Egypt secured a place in the World Cup qualifiers playoff after ensuring they would finish on top of Group G with one game to spare.

The holders of three successive African Cup of Nations (2006, 2008, 2010) Egypt will host Guinea in the final round of the qualifiers in September.

The African draw for the final round, featuring the 10 group winners, will be made on 16 September in Cairo.
