Ahram Online, Wednesday 30 Oct 2013
Photography enthusiasts in 7 cities across the country will compete in Egypt’s upcoming Photo-Marathon

Egypt Photo-Marathon, which started in 2011, has become a much anticipated annual event for photo-lovers, and has spread beyond Cairo to include Alexandria, Minya, Assiut, Mansoura, Sohag and Hurghada.

Participants will receive a set of themes on the day, this year 2 November, and will return at the end of the day with photos reflecting the various categories presented.

Participants have the choice between two types of marathon, lasting either six or twelve hours.

This year's ten topics have been formulated in consultation with singer Aida El-Ayouby.

Egypt Photo-Marathon was inspired by its Danish sister project, and is organised and implemented by the Danish Egyptian Dialogue Institute and International Media Support.

Local partners, including the Contemporary Image Collective, Egypt Independent, the Faculty of Fine Arts Helwan University, and Townhouse Gallery, will assist with technical support.
