PM Hazem El-Beblawy to attend inauguration of 25 January, 30 June martyrs memorial in Tahrir Square; Revolutionary groups to host separate commemoration

The foundation for a Tahrir Square monument dedicated to the 25 January and 30 June revolutions will be laid on Monday as part of an official commemoration ceremony for the revolutions' martyrs.

Construction of the memorial, which is located in the middle of the iconic Tahrir Square, began on Saturday.

The inauguration will be attended by Prime Minister Hazem El-Beblawy as well as other Egyptian ministers and officials. The National Salvation Front and other political groups have also announced that they will participate in the Monday ceremony.

A stage has been set up to host the official commemoration of the clashes' two year anniversary.

Also on Monday, a number of revolutionary groups and parties will host their own commemoration of the Mohamed Mahmoud clashes. This will include a rally ending at Mohamed Mahmoud street.

At least 47 protesters were killed and hundreds injured during four days of clashes on Mohamed Mahmoud street as security forces battled protesters rallying against military council rule in November 2011.
