Building on the success of last year's showcase of Silk Road Film Festival, the festival's organisers have begun to announce launch of this year's event set to take place in March 2014 in Dublin, Ireland, with a special focus on films from Asia and the Middle Eastfestival. The organisers also reveal this year festival's line-up.

Highlights include Baad El Mawkeaa (After the Battle), a 2012 film by Egyptian director Yousry Nasrallah which competed for the Palme d'Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

The festival takes its name from the historic silk trade, which connected Europe with further points across the Mediterranean, the Arab world and Asia.

Accordingly, the line-up compiles selections from Middle Eastern, Persian, Arabic, Asian and Indian cinema, with exclusive premieres, panel discussions with industry experts, exhibitions, free courses and workshops.

The festival's full programme is set to be released in February.
