Ahly midfielders Ahmed Fathi and Sabri Rahil will be out of action for two weeks because of injuries they sustained during the 2-1 loss to Arab Contractors in the sixth matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.

Rahil sustained a muscle injury during the first half of the game against the Arab Contractors.

"Initial tests showed that Rahil will be out for two weeks with a muscle injury as he will undergo further scans to define the seriousness of his injury," Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz was quoted as saying on the club's official website after the game.

The Cairo giants’ midfielder Ahmed Fathi also sustained a knee injury during the game.

"Fathi needs two weeks on the sidelines to recover from a knee injury," Ahly doctor Khaled Mahmoud told the club's official website.

Ahly are in the driving seat of their Group A in the Egyptian Premier league with 12 points, sharing the same points with runners-up Smouha, while Arab Contractors are third with 11 points.
