Jose Mourinho believes Mohamed Salah has a great future with the Blues following Saturday performance

Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho has expressed admiration for the performance of new signing Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah after the 3-0 win over Stoke City in the English Premier League Saturday.

The 21-year-old winger produced a vivid display to mark his Chelsea start with a powerful from inside the area following a superb pull-back from Nemanja Matic to put Chelsea in front after 31 minutes.

"Chelsea did very well, we sold a great player [Juan Mata], a finished product in the best moment of his career. We bought a kid from a different habitat, an Egyptian player playing in Switzerland," Mourinho told the post-match news conference.

"We know he needs time, we know next season he will be an important player for us. This season, step by step, he's playing 10 minutes here and there."

The former Basel forward Saleh, who joined Chelsea on a five-and-a-half year contract last winter, was making his first full appearance since joining the Blues as he made four substitute appearances in the English Premier League that yielded a goal in the 6-0 drubbing of London rivals Arsenal.

"You can feel the connection between him and the crowd; the crowd like him, they like his style of play," Mourinho added.

"He's the type of player we need because we have wingers who prefer to play with the ball at their feet. He's the type of player who prefers the ball in space.

"Chelsea did very well to bring him. Next season with him, Eden, Willian and Oscar, they will have more strength and experience. They have a good future."
