Sessegnon on target, Adebayor misses penalty in West Brom draw with Spurs

Tottenham came from three goals down after 31 minutes to draw 3-3 at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, with Christian Eriksen's strike deep into stoppage time sealing the English Premier League comeback.

Spurs' faint chances of catching Everton and Arsenal in the race for the fourth and final Champions League place were dented by dropping two points, but the spirited fightback puts them three points clear of seventh-place Manchester United as they chase Europa League football next season.

"It was crazy," said Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood, who lamented more woeful defending by his team. "We might as well put 1-0 up on the scoreboard before we start."

Eriksen crashed a finish high into the net four minutes into second-half injury time, completing a recovery that looked unlikely after goals by Matej Vydra after 28 seconds and Chris Brunt in the fourth minute for West Brom were added to by Stephane Sessegnon's goal with barely a half hour gone.

Jonas Olsson's own goal reduced the deficit in the 34th and Harry Kane's 70th-minute header gave Tottenham further hope before the dramatic finish.

It was another rollercoaster match for Sherwood, whose future has been the subject of fierce speculation over the past few weeks.

"Perversely I am loving it," Sherwood said. "I like the stick. I am proud to be the manager of this great football club and long may it continue. The fans know I am with them."

It was the second straight home match that West Brom conceded an injury-time equalizer, with the draw leaving the team three points from safety.

"The problem is, we are so keen to win the points — we need to play the same way regardless of being 3-0 up or if 0-0," West Brom manager Pepe Mel said. "This is very difficult for me, the players are very down, but we have five games to come."

Tottenham is six points behind fourth-place Everton having played a game extra.
