Amr Warda has remote chances of breaking into Egypt's starting line-up at the Nations Cup after a below-par season in Greek football.

Despite his undoubted potential, the 25-year-old is still finding it hard to win over Egypt's demanding supporters.

He spent the first half of the season at PAOK but could only make 11 appearances in all competitions, scoring a solitary goal in a Champions League qualifying round against Benfica.

In January, he re-joined Atromitos, the club where he had a successful loan stint in the 2017/2018 season. Warda netted only two goals and provided one assist, and had a significant low when he was sanctioned by his own club for quarreling with AEK Athens fans during a Greek Cup game in February.

Warda received his first international call-up by former Egypt coach Hector Cuper in October 2015 for a friendly match against Zambia.

He has made 26 international appearances since then, scoring one goal and dishing out two assists. His caps included a remarkable one in the final of the 2017 Nations Cup, when he played the full 90 minutes against Cameroon after three forwards were injured before the match.

Warda he has the ability to play in all midfield positions but he is usually deployed on the flank or in a deep-lying forward position.
