If Mohamed Salah is seen as Egypt's deadliest weapon, Abdallah El-Said is the man who holds the trigger.

The gifted playmaker dictates the attacking flow of Egypt, thanks to his vision and ability to carve out openings with his exceptional passing skills.

He blossomed in the past few years with his club Ahly, prompting Egypt coach Hector Cuper to rely on him as one of the national team's key players.

His capabilities are unmatched in Egypt. He is a classic playmaker who provides the perfect link between defence and offence, orchestrating attacks through his astute defence-splitting passes as well as goal-scoring instincts.

Egyptian fans hope a recent dispute with Cairo giants Ahly will not affect El-Said during the World Cup. The 32-year-old was put up for sale by the Red Devils after he signed for foes Zamalek. Although he later reversed his decision to join the cross-town rivals, Ahly still penalized him.

Ahly eventually allowed him to join Finnish club Kuopion Palloseura on a short loan deal in order to stay fit ahead of the World Cup.

El-Said made his Egypt debut in 2008. He went on to make 33 international appearances, scoring six goals and providing eight assists.

The keen understanding he forged with Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was cited as one of the main reasons Egypt were able to reach the World Cup after a 28-year absence.
