Amr Warda, who spent this season on loan at Greek side Atromitos, is one of Egypt’s hot prospects. He received his first call-up by the Pharaohs coach Hector Cuper in October 2015 for a friendly match against Zambia.

A gifted winger, he has the ability to play in all midfield positions. He has made 16 international appearances so far but could not hold down a regular place.

Warda’s only start in a competitive game was in the African Nations Cup final in early 2017, when he played the full 90 minutes against Cameroon after three forwards were injured before the match.

The 24-year-old impressed in his loan stint with Atromitos after joining from PAOK, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists in 28 games in all competitions.

He is not expected to break into Egypt’s starting line-up at the World Cup but he remains a valuable option on the bench.
