An art initiative, which recently launched to paint the satellite dishes on roofs across Cairo, arrives in El-Marg

The recently launched Cairo Dish Painting Initiative has taken its activities to rooftops in El-Marg, an informal area in the north-east of Cairo.

The initiative, launched by American resident artist at Artellewa Jason Stoneking, has gained popularity on social media merely a week after its launch.

Stoneking hopes Cairenes will take it upon themselves to paint their own dishes, so the movement continues beyond his short lived residency in Egypt's capital.
