More than 300 workers from an iron and steel plant in Helwan demonstrated on 9 December in front of the Holding Company for Metallurgical Industries in central Cairo

The demonstration came after two weeks of sit-ins at the factory. 12,000 workers are demanding the removal of factory management, payment of late bonuses and the return of all workers transferred arbitrarily
