Egypt’s Public Prosecution has ordered the referral of senior swimming federation officials and rescue staff to an urgent criminal trial over the death of 12-year-old swimmer Youssef Abdel-Malek, who drowned during a national championship earlier this month after going unnoticed in the pool.
