Mustafa Amin, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, announced a $50 increase in monthly bonuses for the council's contract workers

The raise, which will be implemented from November, will bring bonuses up from $100 to $150. The bonus increase only applies to contractors who earn less than LE1,000 per month.

The announcement came after the secretary-general met with a delegation of representatives of the council's contractors Thursday evening.

The delegation welcomed the secretary-general's decision, applauding it as an effort to achieve social justice.
