Oman provided bail for release of two US hikers

The lawyer for the two US hikers convicted in Iran of espionage and illegal entry told AFP on Wednesday that the money for their bail was provided by the Gulf Sultanate of Oman. "Yes, the money for the bail was provided by Oman," Masoud Shafii told AFP.
Oman is a US ally which has friendly relations with Iran Shafii made the comment as Iran's judiciary said the Amercians, Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer, would be released from a Tehran jail after bail was posted, which their lawyer said would be done later in the day.
